New to Final Cut Pro 6, Apple added a Smoothcam filter under “Effects > Video Filters > Video > Smoothcam”. This filter works very well considering its all contained within Final Cut Pro, so I tend to use it on a lot of my moving shots as long as there’s not too much shake. Just be aware that if there is a lot of shake within your shot and you apply the SmoothCam filter, it will create a good amount of soft focus to your shot. Also be aware that this filter will automatically scale up your footage so it’s best if you plan ahead and keep the most vital visual information away from the edges of the frame when you’re shooting.
