Yesterday, YouTube announced a new facelift to it’s popular website. I took a closer look to see if it’s new features equated to an experience that inspired or sucked. Here’s what I found:
The new look of YouTube is much cleaner and reminiscent of Apple’s minimalist advertising campaigns. The new interface features handy drop-down buttons to display more information if you’d like but keeping it hidden away until you need it.
It has an easy way to view the other videos of the producer, which I definitely like because they’re easier to access and your video can continue loading because it doesn’t take you to a new page with you click on the drop-down buttons. Lots of things shifted around to give YouTube it’s new look, but I’m glad that these new changes still make the site easy to navigate for people who are used to the previous layout.
The biggest change? The 5-star rating system is gone and replaced with a Facebook-like “thumbs-up/thumbs-down” system. Overall, I give the new YouTube a THUMBS UP. But hey, I’m just one person. What are your thoughts on YouTube’s new look? Do you think it sucks?
